Timeline

• 7:30 AM - Volunteers Arrive
• 8:15 AM - Team Photos Start
• 8:30 AM - Teams Arrive -Setup Begins
  • Both playing teams setup
  • All teams should arrive at 8:30 or earlier
  • You may ref before you play
• 9:00 AM - Tournament Start
• 11:00 AM - BBQ Lunch Starts
• 11:00 AM - Kona sponsored Volleyball Social Starts
• 1:00 PM - Team Photos End
• 1:45 PM - BBQ Lunch Ends
• 2:00 PM - Kona Sample and Prize team leaves
• 4:00 PM - Tournament Ends

• Gatorade provided at snack table (use your own bottle)
• Snacks provided at snack table (This is not a grocery store, please don't be greedy)

Rosters, Rules, and Safety

• All teams should have an acting captain
• Roster checks will take place during the day
  • Unregistered Players will result in immediate tournament team forfeit and may result in additional captain penalties.
  • Non rostered players (subs from other teams) will result in game forfeit
    • Unless they were approved by commissioner on or before 8/21/25 11:59 PM 
    • Sub requests and volunteers should follow standard season request process
• Standard season rules apply
• NO ALCOHOL or DRUGS
  • It is against the law on Park District property
  • It creates an unsafe environment for play
  • Commissioning team has authority to suspend a player under the influence of drugs or alcohol
  • Repeat offences by a team will result in immediate tournament forfeit
• NO JEWELRY
  • For the safety of all players
  • This includes wrist and ankle bracelets, watches, necklaces, etc.

Brackets and Logistics

• Teams playing or reffing first should arrive 30 min prior to game start.
• Both teams playing first are responsible for setup
• Last winning team on a court is responsible for takedown.
• Reffing team is responsible for picking up & returning score sheets at Check-in table

• 9:00 AM - First Games Start
• Please be 15 min early at Check-in Table, or court each game
  • Any team 5 min late to game will forfeit the tournament
• Reffing teams should act as officiators, similar to the season play
  • Reffing team has final say
  • Please replay the point if there is disagreement
  • We are here to have fun!
• Double elimination Format
  • Winners Bracket
    • First Two Games
      • Scores start at 4; Play to 25
      • Cap at 27; Win by 2
    • Tie Breaker
      • Scores start at 0; Play to 15
      • No cap; Win by 2
      • Switch when team reaches 8 points
  • Losers Bracket
    • Scores start at 0; Play to 25
    • No Cap; Win by 2
    • Switch at 13
• Game point limits may be reduced by commissioner to rectify scheduling conflicts
• Divisions and Brackets
  • There are 14 divisions based on season ranking
  • Divisions have been reviewed carefully for fairness and appropriate placement
• We have added lunch breaks to brackets
• Last winning team playing on court must take down.
