New in the fall of 2026, CMSA is piloting a 6-week board game night!  Whether you haven’t played a board game in years or have a large collection of board games yourself, CMSA’s board game night welcomes everyone!

Please consider joining our Waitlist. The benefits of being on the Waitlist include:

1. Reserves your spot in line if a space opens up.
2. We will use the Waitlist to source substitute players for weekly games.
3.Most importantly - the Waitlist helps us identify the interested capacity for next season to build bigger and better.

OUR PRIORITIES:

• LEARN NEW GAMES - We’ll be focusing on popular, medium-complexity strategy games (like 7 Wonders, Dominion, Queendomino, and more).  Never played before?  No problem! We assign games and send out a 15-minute tutorial video in advance so everyone can learn the rules ahead of time.
• MAKE NEW FRIENDS - Game nights have two parts. In the first half, everyone will be pre-assigned to tables of four or six (and those assignments will change weekly) - a great way to make new friends! In the second half, players can keep playing with their table, or group up with friends made in a previous week, and choose what they play.
• HAVE FUN - This is a friendly, supportive environment! There are no tournaments or leaderboards, and good sportsmanship is a must. We’ll also have a selection of cooperative games to play.

WHERE DO WE PLAY? 

Our Fall 2026 pilot season will be at Sidetrack! Participants must bring their IDs, be over the age of 21, and check their bags upon arrival.

WHEN DO WE PLAY?

Mondays from 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM.  Check back in 2027 or follow us on Instagram to see if future iterations take place!

ATTENDANCE POLICY

Our games are best enjoyed at our maximum capacity. In order to encourage the best attendance during our short 6-week league, the following policies will be observed:

1. Our expectation is that players can make a minimum 4/6 weeks with strong preference for showing up all 6 weeks.
2. Attendance confirmations for the following week will be requested upon check in the week prior.
3. Email lad.geake@chicagomsa.org if you previously confirmed, but will miss, as soon as you know with at least 24 hour advanced notice (so we have time to rearrange or invite someone else to attend).
4. If a player has two no-shows without 24h advanced email notification, we will assume they are no longer interested in playing and will be removed from the league for the current season.
